Our 2016 GMC Denali has given us numerous issues over the last eight years. Many are inherent to this vehicle. The latest was another round of bent rods due to the way the engine goes from four functioning cylinders to eight depending on the speed you are driving. Just 2 years ago while in another state on a road trip we experienced this nightmare for the first time. Several thousands later we were able to return home. It just happened again! Had the vehicle towed to Mackert and it was quickly diagnosed. It is an expensive fix and the problem is it apparently doesnt last because of the design flaw with this car. But after looking at new vehicles or low mileage used we decided to replace the engine. It was actually half the price of a low mileage used vehicle and we now have a 3 year or 100,000 mile warranty. Mackert personnel are AMAZING. All our questions were answered (and we asked a lot!) so we could make an informed decision. We drive our vehicles until the wheels fall off and although we thought that time was now, Mackert has now extended that life with an engine that doesnt have the design flaw. We will get a little less fuel economy but that is totally acceptable to not be broken down on the side of the road. The work was done in less than two weeks and it drives like a dream. I cannot be happier with our decision to replace the engine instead of buying another vehicle with unknown problems. This shop takes care of all of our cars and they have always done a superb job in a very timely manner. We cant recommend this shop enough!!! Thanks to the whole team.
